FG To Address Factors Mitigating Implementation Of Reforms

Background

The Federal government has taken steps to identify and address factors mitigating against implementation of reforms to pave way for vibrant and roburst export-oriented economy.

The Director General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Dasuki Arabi made this known in Abuja at the bureau’s seminar with the theme
“Reform Measures the Nigeria Export Promotion Council has put in place to Diversify the Economy: Challenges and Way Forward”

Mr. Arabi who highlighted some of the challenges to include insufficient infrastructure, limited access to finance, and inadequate capacity building among farmers and other stakeholders called for effective collaboration between government agencies, private enterprises, research institutions, and international partners.

He added that maximizing the potential of arable land and investing in modern agricultural practices, will significantly increase agricultural exports and help the nation to earn more foreign currency as well as providing employment and sustenance to a significant portion of the population.

“Therefore, the need for revitalizing and modernizing the sector would bolster food security and increase global demand for quality agricultural products”.

In his presentation, the Director General, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Mr. Ezra Yakusak said the organisation is working hard to ensure various reforms to ensure diversification of the non oil sector for the nation to gain more foreign exchange to develop the economy.

He said the organisation would work asidiously to identify products that are viable and meets international standard which he said would create more employment for it’s teeming Youths.
