Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to collaborate with State Governments and other stakeholders to harness the Oil and Gas Free Zones potential for the nation’s economic growth.
This is contained in a statement by Golda Ukomadu of the Corporate Communication Department of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, OGFZA in Abuja.
According to the statement
the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Senator Tijjani Kaura disclosed this when he led the management team on a visit to the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
The Statement explains that OGFZA seeks the support of the Rivers State Government to develop Ikpokiri Island, as a free zone to boost the country’s revenue generation and make the island a modern city in the State given the vast potential in the area .

OGFZA boss notes that the development of the free zone was also critical and beneficial for creating wealth and job opportunities adding that foreign investors have indicated interest to invest in the island.
The statement adds that the Executive Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara while appreciating OGFZA’s MD for the initiative expressed willingness to collaborate with the Authority.
