The Methodist Archbishop of Abuja, Most Reverend Michael Akinwale has appealed to Fathers to lay a good foundation and take charge in their families.
Addressing the congregation during a service to Mark this year’s father’s day, at the Methodist Cathedral of Unity Wuse Abuja Archbishop Akinwale attributed social vices in the country to failure of some fathers in check mating their children.
He also stressed the need for fathers to monitor the activities of their children beyond the home for a better society.
The Methodist Archbishop emphasized the need for parents to work collectively and train their children with the fear of God.
The Lay President, Methodist Archdeacon, Air Vice Marshal Kayode Beckley said the day is important as it reminds fathers of their roles in having peaceful homes.
Air Vice Marshal Kayode called on fathers not to allow the present situation in the country prevent them from spending quality time with their children.
The Service featured special prayers for families and the country’s leadership at all levels.
